Workshops & Training
I have developed and present several workshops and training sessions for organisations and groups. For Practitioners:
Living with Mortality
This workshop explores the different stages of dying and our attitude towards our own death. In doing so, we can begin the process of becoming fully engaged in our present life and situation. By examining our fear of death, we discover our fear of life and it is this which keeps us from connecting fully with each other.
Working with Loss and Bereavement
This interactive workshop provides an opportunity for the practitioner to develop his/her understanding of the impact death and dying has on their work and in their workplace. In conjunction with 3 academic models, participants explore some of their own thoughts, feelings and attitudes about their own death in a safe and supportive atmosphere, thereby developing a better understanding of their professional role.
Facilitating a Support Group
The expectations of those who attend a support group are high and, therefore, what is expected of the leaders and facilitators of the support groups is also high.
This workshop explores two models for facilitating a support group. Through exercises and experiential groups, you will learn how to start and run a support group, manage common dilemmas and deal with endings.
For Patients:
Hepatitis C Healthday Workshop
This work shop is specificity designed for people living with hepatitis C, aiming to help them manage their illness. The workshop shares accurate and current information on the disease and the treatments available, and introduces techniques and lifestyle changes that can help improve the quality of life of sufferers.
